Water is an increasingly important strategic and environmental issue globally and is particularly relevant in South Africa, where heightened awareness, tighter regulation and limited availability are driving interest in understanding all forms of water use along supply chains.

A water footprint, analogous to a carbon footprint, reflects the total amount of water used in the supply chain of a product or service and therefore gives a more meaningful measure for comparing products’ water impacts than just the direct water use of the final manufacturing stage, or that incurred during use of the product.

In addition to conducting water footprints, The Green House can assist companies with reporting in line with the CDP’s Water Disclosure Project.
